From August 30 to October 5, 2025, these remarkable pilots made history by flying a single-engine plane 8,000 miles across the Atlantic, visiting 11 countries, and connecting with Rotary organizations worldwide. At age 89, one pilot set a world record as the oldest person to complete such a flight, all while raising nearly one million dollars to support Rotary’s mission to eradicate polio—a cause championed and matched by the Gates Foundation.
